It is biodegradable under the conditions for industrial, i.e. not home, composting (temperature 58\u00b0C,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>90% biodegradation within a maximum of 6 months) and eligible to EN 13432 and EN 14995.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Polylactic acid (PLA) is a natural alternative to polyethylene. Roffelsen 3D PLA filament is easy to print and odourless. It provides a very good colour coverage and batch-to-batch colour consistency. It prints details with high resolution and good surface quality. It has low shrinkage and does not require the use of a heated build plate.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Overall, PLA is not as tough as more technical materials, however, some functional and mechanical parts are still possible to print from PLA.
